Whitney is a writer, editor, artist and creative consultant based in Berlin. She is the former Editor-in-Chief of the electronic music platform Resident Advisor , and prior to that, was the Editor-in-Chief of Electronic Beats, the music marketing program of Deutsche Telekom.

Throughout her career, Whitney has written extensively about club culture and experimental dance music scenes. Her words have appeared in The Guardian, Vogue US, Highsnobiety, Pitchfork, and Numéro Berlin, among others.

In 2020, Whitney served as a mentor for the Factory Berlin, Sónar+D, and Beats by Dr. Dre artist residency program and was selected as a Shesaid.so and Native Instruments Alternative Power 100 Music List Honoree. More recently, she was a member of the Clubcommission Berlin ‘Day of Club Culture’ Board of Trustees and a judging panelist for the UK Youth Music Awards. She has also led several music journalism workshops and panel discussions at cultural centers such as the Feuerle Collection and festivals around the world including Terraforma, Unsound, Dekmantel, Amsterdam Dance Event, Nuits Sonores Brussels, Nuit Sonores Lyon, Reeperbahn, CTM, and C2C.

Whitney graduated with distinction from Barnard College of Columbia University, and was a 2017 Fulbright National Geographic Semi-finalist for her fellowship proposal on urban nightlife.
